Conditions & Treatments

Dr. Khalil Kargar provides evaluation and surgical treatment for patients with bone and soft-tissue tumors and related orthopedic conditions. Treatment planning depends on the diagnosis, tumor location, extent of disease, and the individual needs of each patient.

Bone Tumors

Bone tumors may be benign or malignant and can occur at almost any age. Evaluation typically involves clinical examination and appropriate imaging, with biopsy when required to establish a diagnosis.

Surgical treatment may range from removal of a benign lesion to wide tumor resection and reconstruction for malignant disease. The appropriate approach depends on the tumor type, location, and its relationship to nearby joints, nerves, blood vessels, and other structures.

Soft-Tissue Tumors & Sarcomas

Soft-tissue tumors can arise from muscle, fat, connective tissue, blood vessels, and other tissues around the skeleton. Many soft-tissue masses are benign, but enlarging, deep, painful, or otherwise suspicious masses require proper assessment.

When a sarcoma is suspected or confirmed, surgery must be carefully planned to achieve adequate tumor removal while preserving function whenever possible.

Limb-Salvage & Reconstruction

Some bone and soft-tissue tumors require removal of a substantial portion of bone, joint, or surrounding tissue. When medically appropriate, limb-salvage surgery aims to remove the tumor while preserving the affected limb.

Reconstruction may involve orthopedic implants, prosthetic reconstruction, bone grafting, or other techniques depending on the location and extent of the resection.
